So maybe it’s just me, but one item missing from most Christmas Gift Guides is this: the Aerogrow.

The Aerogrow Aerogardens are the most incredible thing for lovers of fresh herbs and produce. Unless you’re one of the lucky few to live in a warm climate year round, or can afford a green house of your very own, the veggies and herbs you eat year round have already lost much of their nutritional value, to say nothing of flavor, by the time you bring them home from the store.

The aerogrow solves that by letting you grow fresh herbs and veggies year round in the comfort of your kitchen.

Each grow pod lasts a season of about 4 months, and it’s easy to replace them.  For example, if someone decides to get you a Chia herb garden for Christmas, you can always change the pods out to tomato plants or salad greens.

Not to mention that the grow bulbs are easily replaced, and it doesn’t take up much room at all. The only downside is that it would likely take a year or more to pay for itself, or longer if you have a nice garden already. But the convenience (no running to the store because you forgot to buy basil, or going outside to pick a tomato for your salad) of it, and the ability to have living greens right in your own home certainly make up for the $99-$150 cost  ($99 for the 3 pod aerogrow, $150 for the 6 pod). (Prices based on what I saw at Kmart)
