Bridget- You're welcome, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the magnesium oil review. And I DEFINITELY appreciate you explaining how to make magnesium oil- I've had a lot of people searching for that information land here, but since I didn't know how to make magnesium oil myself... well, I couldn't actually tell anyone how! Hopefully those searchers will read down into the comments.

Janet- I think a lot of the people that are searching for how to make their own magnesium oil are planning to make it with a cheaper form of magnesium- such as Epsom Salts. Perhaps not, but since I only know of Ancient Minerals and one or two other companies that make magnesium oil, I suspect that they just want a cheaper alternative (although Ancient Minerals is sooooo worth the expense). Diluting Ancient Minerals magnesium oil is a good idea, though- for making it stretch or so that it isn't quite so... strong? It does burn if you're sensitive.

Ahah! So that's why my flakes got sticky when I let it sit for too long! I didn't leave my jar open, but I usually only added a half cup or so to my bath water, and after a while from the repeated openings in a steamy room the flakes got sticky. I did notice though, that they didn't dissolve well unless the bath water was nice and hot hot.

Thanks for the info!

I don't understand the point of making your own oil?? If you want a diluted form of the magnesium chloride, isn't it just easier to cut the Ancient Minerals magnesium oil with water? Also, aren't the bath flake hygroscopic anyway? Why would you need to add water if you can just let them sit out and become a liquid on their own? (I learned this the hard way by leaving my jar of flakes open)

Hi. I read your review. Thank you for posting it. One thing I've read elsewhere, and didn't find here, is that you can purchase the magnesium chloride flakes (or bath salts I think is what this brand calls them) and make your own magnesium oil. To do this you just mix 1/2 quantity of Magnesium Chloride Flakes with 1/2 quantity of purified water. Put it in a spray bottle and spray your body after a shower. Sometimes it will tingle. It is suggested you try a small amount on your arms or legs and then take it from there, just to check you don't react to it in anyway.
