I think one of my favorite places to grab a sammich (What? Don’t pretend you don’t say it that way. I know better. You’ll have to scroll down to the video and watch the “sponsors” to see why I’m linking to that post.) is at the local Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
OK, I know it’s supposed to be for smoothies, but really? I’m not that keen. I mean, they’re good- and TSC has loads of extra “energy” and “detox” and whatever shots they can put into your $5 smoothie, but, well, I can make them at home for less than half that cost (in fact, that’ll be in an upcoming Recipe Monday post).
Anyway. I love me some Tropical Smoothie Cafe paninis. They have this awesome Tuscan Turkey panini with this gorgeous, spicy sauce. Or maybe it’s the bread. Whatever, it’s spicy, but not overly spicy. Ya dig? And the lettuce is so fresh, and I swear they slice the Boar’s Head meat fresh when you order. I mean- they do the smoothie fresh, so they might as well, right? And it certainly tastes fresh. And yummy. And now I’m getting hungry.
So anyway, I’m actually writing this post ahead of time, because I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year, and I’m trying to remove any excuse to not write. And I’m writing about Tropical Smoothie Cafe, because I’m hoping to be there when this post is posted, working on my novel, having a smoothie, eating a lovely panini, trying their soup, and having a grand old time making things up and calling it work.
Plus, I really have this strange idea that fresh = healthy, even when it’s lunch meat. Does anyone else share this delusion?
